Features
Brand names you can trust: The HES-GT-10.3 solar systems feature high efficiency Sharp Solar modules – a reliable brand name you can trust to deliver rated power for decades. Sharp Solar panels include a 25 year warranty. This system uses high efficiency mono crystalline panels for more power/area, and feature the strongest frames in the industry.
High efficiency inverters: Xantrex, Fronius or SET inverters. These have a digital displays showing power production by day, month or since installation. All feature 10 year warranties. All wiring components and safety equipment are of the highest standards and approved to CSA standards.
Engineered for Ontario: Home Energy has 25 years of experience in designing solar system that work in Canada. We understand snow loads, cold winter temperatures and high summer temperatures. Our systems are build to last, perform and to be fully conforming to Canadian Electrical Code.
MicroFIT Qualified: Home Energy systems fully meet the OPA requirements to qualify for a MicroFIT contract. With fully code approved components, Provincial Content of 46%, and full documentation packages for the MicroFIT application, LDC application and ESA inspection, the systems offer fast approval for your contract.
How Do They Work?
Instead of wiring a string of solar modules together and bringing DC power off the roof, a MicroBlox kit has its own micro-inverter mounted on the back of the solar panel. The inverters are designed to work with two Sharp, Sanyo or BP solar modules. Since the output is 240VAC, no other DC wiring is needed. Simply connect the MicroBlox output to a power feed cable to bring power off the roof, and connect to your electrical system per your local codes.
What the HES-GT-10.3 Comes With:
- Sharp Solar Array rated at 10,300W
- Inverter system rated at 10kW
- Rooftop wiring including array extension cables, combiner boxes (2) and 600VDC fuses
- Full documentation

Power House Mounting Options (made in Ontario):

Sloped Roof Racking Systems with self-sealing roof brackets
For sheet metal or shingle roofs, slope >3/12.
2 Tiered Ground Mounting Racks
Need 2 parallel beams 6’ apart x 72’ long
Pole Mounts
Need 4 x 6” poles with footings, approximately 8 feet above ground.
Ballasted Flat Roof Mounts for tar/gravel roofs
Approx 3000 sq feet of roof needed
Standing Seam Metal Roof mounting kits
S5 clamps and Powerhouse Rails

How Much Space Do I Need for the HES-GT-10.3?
If you have an unshaded south facing roof of 800 square feet or more (ie. a garage or barn), or a clear piece of land 10’ x 72’ in size, you have room for the HES-GT-10.3. The system can also be split into 2 pieces. South east or southwest facing roofs are also ideal – there is only a small difference in annual output from due south.
What Revenue Can I Expect from the HES-GT-10.3?
Canada’s Retscreen program (see www.retscreen.net) predicts that a 10.3kW solar system should deliver over 12,800 kWh of energy delivered per year in Toronto, and over 14,400 kWh in Thunder Bay. This will vary with solar insolation, panel tilt angle, temperature and local shading effects from trees, snow and dirt.
Sample Cash Flows for an HES-GT-10.3 in Toronto:
A MicroFIT Solar System from HES will earn their owners a cheque from the local utility monthly or bi-monthly according to the billing schedule. Each system has a meter that reports the production in the same way the hydro meter records consumption. As the system output varies with season, cheques for summer production will be greater than winter production.
